Mini Lessons for week of 6-28 - 7-3



Hey all. Had an awesome weekend doing demos at the Roycroft Fest in EA. Saw a bunch of you. Thanks for the support. Here are this weeks lessons. Please feel free to ask any questions or make any comments about it. Thanks much and lets absolutely crush these workouts this week!!!

  2. Trevor makes an excellent point about eating before exercise (the pre work-out meal). Studies have shown that the average time for gastric emptying is approximately 80 minutes, but that depends on what you’re eating. High fat and high protein meals take longer for the stomach to empty them..... on average about 2.5 hours. Whereas, a pre work-out meal consisting of low fiber and high in carbohydrates empty out of the stomach quicker.
    So what Trevor said about feeling week or light-headed if you don’t eat 1.5 hours before working out, also keep in mind that if you eat too close to the time of your work out, or consume a meal high in fat or protein, having that food in your stomach may cause nausea or vomiting. Also, that sensation of fullness may inhibit you to consume fluids and lead to dehydration.
